Planning a berry-themed 1st birthday party is berry exciting! Here are some ideas to get you in the party mood.

Berry themes to choose from
I love the berry themes for a first birthday – there is loads you can do with them – so either pick your favourite berry, such as strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry etc – or just have a mix! You’re in charge so you decide!
Here’s some themes that might help you decide.
Berry First Invitations
You won’t find it hard to find some cute invitations for a 1st birthday party with the berry theme! You could even design your own.
Here’s a few invitations that I like.
Berry 1st decorations
Decorating for the party is great fun, and important, it sets the mood. You could get some berry coloured balloons – depending on the berry of your choice. Lots of streamers, and banners. Use tablecloths, plates, cups, and napkins in shades of red, pink, purple, and blue to reflect the colours of different berries. You can also use ‘real’ berries to decorate – I’m sure you’ll be eating them later, but for now will make a good centerpiece.

Well there is fun to have here, and lots of delicious ideas that will appeal to both adults and children.
Sweet Treats
🍓 Berry Parfaits – Layer vanilla yogurt, granola, and mixed berries in clear cups.
🫐 Mini Berry Pancakes – Serve bite-sized pancakes topped with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
🍇 Berry Jelly Cups – Make berry-flavoured gelatin with whole berries inside for a fun, wobbly treat.
🍓 Strawberry Shortcake Bites – Mini biscuits, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream.

🍓 Berry & Cheese Skewers – Alternate strawberries, blueberries, and cubes of cheese on cocktail sticks.

The birthday cake
You might want to make (or buy!) a large cake, so everyone gets a piece – you could always buy in a plain cake and ice it yourself.
Lots of cup cakes are also an alternative idea.

Activities and Games
Plan age-appropriate activities and games for the little guests. You could set up a berry-themed sensory play area with berry-scented playdough or a “berry patch” ball pit. Organise a berry scavenger hunt where kids search for hidden toy berries around the party space. You could also have berry-themed colouring sheets or crafts for the kids to enjoy.
Berry party favours
Send the guests home with some berry-themed party favours to thank them for celebrating with you. Ideas include berry-scented candles, berry-shaped soaps, berry-flavored lip balms, or small baskets filled with chocolate-covered berries or berry gummies.
Photo Opportunities
You will want to remember this moment with some great photos, (and don’t just keep them on your phone – print them out!!)
Set up a berry-themed photo booth with props like oversized berries, berry baskets, and berry hats for guests to pose with. You could also create a berry backdrop using colourful paper cutouts or fabrics.

Find some berry themed songs – yes once you start looking there are loads – I like ‘Strawberry fields’ by The Beatles – which one’s can you think of.
