Hooray! Turning 10 is such an exciting milestone, and every child deserves a birthday celebration they’ll cherish forever! Whether they’re into thrilling adventures, artsy crafts, or just love to bounce around, there’s an amazing party theme waiting just for them. If you’re on the lookout for fun party ideas that are perfect for the UK—rain or shine—we’ve got just the thing! Here are 25 awesome party themes to make your child’s 10th birthday truly special.

Entertainment & Movie-Themed Parties

1. Karaoke & Talent Show Party

You could base this on whatever latest talent show is their favourite and let kids showcase their singing, dancing, or comedy skills with a mini stage setup.

I find that this is popular with both girls and boys.

If you haven’t already got a Karaoke machine take a look at this one from the Ankuka store.

2. Harry Potter Party

Kids still love Harry Potter! I actually live near Alnwick castle, where you are able to have broomstick training lessons!

At your house sort guests into houses, create DIY wands, and have a magical potion-making session.

Here are some great Harry Potter themed party supplies from Budget Gifts.

3. Outdoor Cinema Night or Cosy Indoor Movie Night

If you live near me and your child’s birthday happens to fall on one of the 2 days of the year it is warm enough to have a party outside at night, or you live in warmer climes then set up a projector and beanbags in the garden, add blankets, and serve popcorn for a cosy movie night.

Otherwise do all this but indoors! You could make it a sleepover party.

Here’s a free printable popcorn box for you to use.

I love these, you could use them as invitations.

4. Space Adventure Party

Decorate with glow-in-the-dark stars, set up a “mission control” station, and have fun space-themed activities.

5. Disney or Pixar Party

Pick a favourite movie, decorate the space accordingly, and plan themed games. Wicked is quite a popular theme at the moment.

Classic & Adventure Party Themes

6. Treasure Hunt

Hide clues and treasures in the garden, a local park, or even a rented venue for an exciting scavenger type treasure hunt adventure.

If you don’t mind having you house ransacked an indoor treasure hunt is also an option.

You don’t have to think of all the clues yourself, someone else has done it for you, take a look here.

7. Pirate Party

Hand out eye patches, set up a mini “walk the plank” game, and hunt for buried treasure!

I’ve got a whole blog about Pirate parties here.

8. Superhero Academy

Design a superhero training camp with obstacle courses and cape-making.

For more see my blog about Super Hero Parties.

9. Camping & S’mores Night

A S’more is an American campfire treat made by sandwiching a toasted marshmallow and chocolate between two biscuits (such as Digestives or Rich Tea!). The warm marshmallow melts the chocolate, creating a gooey, delicious snack!

They’re called “S’mores” because people always want “some more”!

If you have a fire pit this makes a great party idea, have some stories to tell – the kids will soon come up with more.

10. Dinosaur Explorer Party

Get kids to dig for fossils, go on a dinosaur egg hunt, and learn about prehistoric creatures.

This one works out great if you have a garden that needs digging over!

Creative & Hands-On Party Themes

11. LEGO Building Party

Provide a huge pile of LEGO bricks and set creative building challenges.

I have to say this is one of my favourites because I love making things with lego, I don’t see why I can’t have a lego party as an adult.

12. DIY Arts & Crafts Party

Set up an arts and crafts station with painting, clay modelling, or DIY T-shirts. Kids love making their own masterpieces to take home!

13. Cupcake Decorating Party

Set up a station with cupcakes, icing, and sprinkles so kids can create their own tasty masterpieces.

I love this unicorn decorating kit.

14 Slime-Making Party

A messy but fun hands-on experience with different colours and glitter add-ins.

Here is a slime making kit ready for a party.

15. Science Lab Party

Organise cool experiments like baking soda volcanoes, colour-changing potions, and slime-making.

I have a whole blog about science lab parties.
